Pria berusia 30 tahun ini memulai bisnisnya di usia muda. Menurun talenta dan perjuangan dari kedua orangtuanya yang juga perajin, Agus menyebarkan dongeng suksesnya.

"Saya mulai berani perjuangan dikala lulus kuliah, kebetulan orangtua saya juga perajin batik kayu," ungkapnya kepada VIVA.

Lebih lanjut ia menyampaikan bahwa idenya untuk menciptakan sesuatu yang gres di mulai kala ia menyadari persaingan yang cukup ketat di lingkungannya.

"Dulu di sini (daerah bantul) tempat tinggal saya semenjak tahun 1988 mulai muncul perajin batik kayu. Lama kelamaan mulai berkembang. kini di tempat sini saja ada 50 perajin yang bisa menampung tenaga kerja hingga 400 orang," ujarnya.

Lama kelamaan ia berpikir akan tergerus persaingan. Akhirnya lewat kemajuan teknologi ia berusaha mencari ide baru.

"Saya cari tahu apa yang lagi tren di masyarakat lewat Instagram. Akhirnya saya temukan seni goresan pena dari kayu itu dan semenjak itu aneka macam permintaan."

Tahun 2011 ia mulai terdorong untuk memasarkan produknya secara online.

"Semua produksi sendiri, ada nampan, ada goresan pena Allah, Muhammad, dan Bismillah. Tanpa disangka goresan pena itu laris di pasaran dan permintaannya meningkat di Hari Raya lebaran."

Kini ia mengaku telah mempunyai banyak desain lettering yang ia sanggup alasannya wangsit sendiri atau permintaan costumer.

Pembelinya tiba dari seluruh Indonesia, Agus mengaku banyak yang membeli satuan hingga borongan untuk dijual kembali. Dalam satu bulan ia bisa memproduksi ribuan model.

"Sebulan bisa menjual ribuan. jikalau produksinya bisa sekitar 500 pieces perbulan," ungkapnya.

Kini dengan dibantu 5 orang karyawannya dan beberapa tangan kanan ibu-ibu yang ia himpun di desanya Agus mengaku Omsetnya bisa mencapai Rp60-70 juta perbulan.

Ke depannya Agus masih akan tetap mengguanakan media umum dan sistem online untuk menjual produknya. Ia berharap lebih banyak pengrajin yang bisa memasarkan karyanya melalui online.(je)
