Keluarga yang satu ini memang sangat aneh. Betapa tidak, Donwori, 45, memerintahkan Karin, 35, sang istri untuk menjalin kekerabatan percintaan dengan Donlesi, 28, yang merupakan adik kandungnya sendiri. Dulu alasannya adalah, Donwori ingin menyelamatkan Donlesi semoga tak lagi berafiliasi dengan Mira, seorang janda.
Hati Karin sebetulnya merasa teriris dikala dipaksa untuk berselingkuh dengan adik iparnya sendiri. Dia semakin duka dikala suaminya, Donwori selalu mengancam bakal membuka aibnya kepada keluarga besarnya.
Usut punya usut ternya dalih bahaya itu hanya untuk menutupi kesalahan Donwori sendiri.
Setahun lamanya kekerabatan terlarang antara Donlesi dan Karin didukung penuh oleh Donwori. Donwori bahkan melarang keras Donlesi pergi dari rumahnya. Atas perilaku sang suami, Karin mulai curiga. Karin pun mencari tahu alasan suami hingga mengikhlaskannya berafiliasi dengan adik kandungnya.
“Saya akibatnya nututi (ngikuti, Red) suami kerja. Saya tungguin kerja. Ternyata sepulang kerja beliau ke arah Setro,” kata Karin. Sesampainya di daerah Setro, Karin melihat suami masuk ke salah satu rumah. Satu jam Karin menunggu. Dua hingga tiga jam menunggu, Donwori tak kunjung keluar.

Sampai lebih dari lima jam, Donwori tak kunjung keluar rumah. Karin pun akibatnya tiba ke rumah itu dengan penuh sopan santun. Karena terbiasa bersikap hening dan sabar, Karin tetap berpikir positif. Di rumah itu, Karin mengaku mencari Donwori.
Kebetulan seorang perempuan renta renta sekitar berumur 67 tahun yang menerimanya. Di situlah tabir diam-diam Donwori mulai terkuak. Dari verbal perempuan renta itulah, Karin tahu bila suaminya sudah menikah siri selama dua tahun dengan perempuan sebut Sephia, 27.
Ibu renta itu ialah orang renta Sephia. “Ibu itu tidak tahu kalau ternyata Donwori sudah menikah. Donwori mengaku single,” kata Karin dengan nada nelongso.
Meski mengetahui kenyataan itu, Karin masih dapat menahan amarahnya. Donwori yang sedang berada di kamar atas juga tidak tahu ada Karin di rumah Sephia. Karin yang mengaku saudara akibatnya meminta sang ibu memanggilkan Donwori.
“Saya bilang ada perlu sama Donwori,” kata dia. Akhirnya, keluarlah Donwori dari kamar Sephia.
Sungguh kaget dikala Donwori melihat Karin duduk santai di ruang tamu. Karin hanya melihat dengan wajah sedih. Tak beberapa usang mengalirlah air mata Karin.
Seakan mau muntah, Karin tak dapat murka melihat wajah si renta renta yang dari awal mengumbar senyum ke wajahnya. Karin pasrah dan kemudian pulang ke rumah. “Saya menangis seharian. Besoknya suami tiba tanpa salah,” kata Karin.
Melihat suaminya tak mau tahu, Karin akibatnya protes dan meminta Donwori melepaskan Sephia. Lagi-lagi beliau mengancam akan membuka malu cinta terlarang Karin dan Donlesi selalu dilontarkan Donwori.
Makin tak berdaya dirinya. Ketika sang mertua memintanya merayu Donlesi untuk menikah dengan gadis pilihan keluarganya. Namun, permasalahan justru menghinggapi Karin.
