“KASIH ibu sepanjang jalan, kasih anak sepanjang galah”. Ungkapan itu mungkin berlaku dalam kasus pembunhan ini.

Pelaku pembunuhan yakni seorang anak berusia 15 tahun berjulukan Gregory Logan Ramos, sementara korbannya yakni ibunya sendiri, Gail Cleavenger (46 tahun).

Semua berawal ketika Gail melihat nilai ujian putranya yang menerima nilai D alias buruk.

Gregory dan ibunya terus berdebat wacana nilai itu sampai pukul 11 malam pada Kamis (01/11) waktu Florida, Amerika Serikat.

Saat ibunya mengakhirinya dan masuk ke kamar, Gregory lantas menghampiri ibunya yang tengah tertidur dan mencekiknya sampai tewas.

Setelah ibunya tak lagi bernapas, Gregory mengangkat badan ibunya dan menaikkannya ke atas gerobak dorong. Dia menguburkan jasad ibunya di lubang bersahabat gereja River City dan pulang ke rumah.

Esok harinya, Gregory meminta pertolongan dua temannya, Dylan Ceglarek dan Brian Porras untuk menciptakan rumahnya awut-awutan seolah telah terjadi perampokan.

Tiga sampaumur ini merusak pintu, memecahkan piring, mengambil barang dan membiarkan mesin kendaraan beroda empat terus menyala.

Setelah situasi rumah sudah cukup mencekam, Gregory lantas menelepon 911 untuk melaporkan perampokan palsu itu.

Polisi dan tim detektif Florida segera tiba dan mulai menilik TKP, namun detektif malah curiga.

Gregory menyampaikan pada detektif bahwa Jumat pagi, ibunya masih mengantarnya ke sekolah tapi ibunya tidak terlihat di daerah kerja.

Keterangannya yang mencurigakan itu menciptakan detektif mengusut lebih lanjut dan menemukan fakta bahwa Gregory telah membunuh ibunya.

Polisi lantas mencari di sekitar rumah dan menemukan ada tumpukan barang-barang yang ‘dicuri’ dari rumah tersebut.

Ada televisi, komputer, PlayStation 4 dan sapu di bersahabat gereja River City. Dari lokasi itulah polisi juga berhasil menemukan lubang yang dipakai untuk mengubur ibu Gregory.

Sesaat sebelum meninggal dunia, Gail sempat menelepon suaminya dan melaporkan tingkah anaknya yang emosional. Ayah Gregory terlihat sangat murung atas apa yang terjadi ketika ia kembali dari kiprah pada Jumat malam.

Menurut Sherrif Chitwood yang menangani kasus ini, itu yakni kasus paling menyedihkan yang pernah di lihat selama kariernya.

“Dia tidak menyesal sama sekali. Dia seolah insan tanpa jiwa yang tak punya perasaan,” kata Chitwood.
